How to Replace an audi keyfob a3 key Fob replacement audi car key, clashofcryptos.trade, G28 Engine Speed Sensor

Charles the Humble Technician shows how to replace the G28 Engine Speed Sensor. This sensor is located near the edges of the transmission above the flywheel ring gear. It transmits a signal to the ECU via an uncolored wire T55/49, then to the tachometer on the instrument cluster.

It is located on the outside of the transmission above the flywheel ring gear, the G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends a signal to ECU pin T55/49 through the grey wire. The ECU uses this information to regulate fuel and boost. It also sends a signal to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used as a reference to correlate with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu must know when the crankshaft reached TDC, and the position of the camshaft, in order to activate the spark and injectors.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This indicates that the Crank Shaft is out of alignment with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of a chain stretch or a jumpy chain link in the upper timing chain. The code will not appear without the additional information provided by other sensors (G4 or G40).

Testing is a bit tricky as there are two different connector pins and they serve different purposes but the most effective method to test it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. When the sensor is fully operational, it should be reading approximately 1000 ohms. Check for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you are experiencing issues with this component.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed, i noticed a huge drop in power. It was as if the engine was running out of gas. Or, my injectors weren't firing. Today, i pulled out the spark plugs, 3 were drenched in gazoline, the fourth was dry. When I crank the engine, there are no sparks, I put a piece of tissue on top of each injector hole, the 3 drenched with gazoline jump out but the 4th stay closed. I inspected the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55, 30/55 and 48/55. i get zero Ohm. Therefore, i think the issue is in another place.

I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, but it works fine when the G28 plugged in. However, the intermittent misfire problem continues to occur at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even if it is not plugged in, shows temperatures of -49c. I also noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 when I crank up the engine.

I'm not sure what to do. I think I've eliminated everything else. However, i'm afraid that I might have missed something. Let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump of the g28 receives a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sender is the same as the G4 and they both work in the 80, 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a salvage yard or at a parts store. It is simple to test them: simply switch your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump on the connector's edge facing upwards). They must be infinite ohms.

4. ECU

Our 20vt turbo (3B AAN, ABY, and ADU) engines have an ECU that has to know the speed and position of the crankshaft to make decisions regarding timing of the fuel injectors, etc. It makes use of a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to accomplish this. If you are experiencing issues with either one of these, the diagnostic scanner will display codes that could lead to an engine shut down.

A failing G28 sensor can cause an inaccurate speed counter for your gearbox or a gearbox that shifts faster than normal, and/or an unfire when in the gear. It is likely that the sensor is failing and needs to be replaced if you notice any of these symptoms. They are cheap and easy-to-find especially if they're an Bosch model like ours. Alternatively, the GM version of this unit is also a good option.

5. Tachometer

A faulty engine speed sensor could be the cause of numerous issues with your car. It's an essential component of the audi q7 replacement key's transmission as it sends information to the ECU about how fast or slow the vehicle's crankshaft is turning. This sensor could cause the transmission to malfunction and other components in the car to be affected.

The G5 engine speed sensor is situated on the edge of the transmission above the flywheel ring gear. It sends a signal to the ECU at pin T55/49 through a grey wire. The ECU utilizes this signal to regulate the flow of fuel and boost and also timig. It also relays it to the G5 Tachometer inside the instrument cluster. You can test for sensor failure by examining the continuity of the sensor to the tachometer. Additionally, you can check continuity between pin T55/49 of the ECU and pin T6a/1 of the instrument cluster (trace [79trace [79]) and between pin T6a/1 and pin T26a/12. You should see around 1000 ohms of resistance between these two points. This is a standard part across the audi a1 key 80, 100 200, UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC to the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU so good parts could be found in wrecking yards.
