The system is dual-laser LiDAR -- similar to what is used in self-driving cars -- and can scan an area of up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it's not able to switch between mopping and vacuuming in one go. The two modes require you attach and remove the mop heads according to the need and is suitable for most homes, but not an ideal choice for those with busy lifestyles.

The Deebot T10 is an excellent robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It vacuumed up more than 96% of the debris we tossed at it on our hardwood floors, which is an outstanding performance. It also did an excellent job on carpet and tile cleaning up more than 99percent of dirt and debris.

Turn it upside down, however, and you'll find a motorised floor brush plus a single side sweeper that pushes dirt from the edges of the machine into the main path of the robot's mouth. It's a bit smaller than the main brushes on the rival iRobot Roomba S9, which I found makes it easier to get under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system lets you set up no-mop areas and specific cleaning zones. However, it has a tendency to bump into things (including its charging dock) and isn't always great at climbing over rug. It did a good job of picking up pet hair from floors that were bare however, and in our tests it picked up 89.5% of kitty litter, which puts it ahead of all but the strongest robots we've tested.

Although it's controlled through the app it's also controllable via the app. X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base that allow you to choose the cleaning mode and switch the robot off or on. These buttons can be used to create no-go areas and look up maps in real-time. It's also a little chatty and will tell what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or alert you if something isn't working.

Its navigation system is basic and uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn't have room mapping capabilities, which makes it less time efficient than other models on this list. It's still able get under furniture and in the corners. Its mopping mode was very effective in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.
